The rear bail facilitates vertical storage of rods while moving from one location to another. Attachment points on the base give you a solid clip point for leashing your rod and reel while paddling in rough conditions. Comes supplied with a surface mount base designed to be fastened directly to the boat. The rod holder is interchangeable with either surface mount or track mount bases.
